Being a Man! What Society Has Taught Us.

Trust me, being a man can be a very tough thing to do!

What image flashes in your mind when you hear the word ‘MAN’? Fully grown mustache, tough expressions, 6-pack abs or the latest trend now, a beard. These are not what men really are, these are just the trais of the male species of the human race.

Well, our society makes us think of ‘MAN’ in a very superficial way. Here are few expectations society has from you if you are a ‘MAN’:

1. You are a man, you should have control over your woman.

Yeah, like women are a robotic toy and you have the remote control!

2. You should not allow your woman to get a job.

Yes man! Don’t allow her to work, take all the responsibilities of earning alone and work overtime if you need some extra money. And after that, crib about it. Sounds fun! Right?

3. Your woman should listen to and follow everything that you say.

Yes, women should always listen to their men and follow them like a devotee. We have a saying also “aurat ka swarg to pati ki charaon mei hi hota hai”. I mean seriously? ‘Swarg’ where you don’t even have a right to say anything?

4. Your women should never question you.

Now, this one tickles a bit! Men don’t like being questioned by their women but they need to know everything. Men can do anything they want but, if women start doing the same, they are called ‘sanskaarheen’.

5. You get angry easily, so you may possibly hit your women by ‘mistake’.

I agree. Men get angry easily compared to women but does that mean they have a right to hit women by mistake? We hear stories now and then about men hitting women after they get drunk (even celebrities have done so). Do you think this is justified in any case?

6. You are physically stronger than women so you have an upper hand.

Do you know that getting hit on balls causes almost equal amount of pain which occurs while giving birth? So, keep your balls safe!

Be a real ‘MAN’. Respect your women. Always keep in mind, if you want someone’s respect, you should learn to respect them first.

He has an unbiased sense of justice and believes that the basic rights have cleverly been denied to women since ages. He strongly condemns the roots of gender bias and strives to level up the unfair difference that the society has created between men and women.
